Sports across more than 15 activities

Physical activity spans more than 15 distinct sports and activities, covered in detail across the SMCIS school’s infrastructure, from team sports on the outdoor fields to individual pursuits like swimming, archery, and skating. This range matters because students have genuinely different physical aptitudes and interests, and a program built around variety gives more students a real chance to find something they connect with.

Music and vocal training

Structured vocal and instrumental training runs through the dedicated Music Room, building genuine technical skill rather than treating music as informal singing during a free period. Students who train consistently get real performance opportunities through SMCIS school events discussed separately.

Dance and performing arts

The Dance Room supports training across multiple dance forms, giving students exposure to different styles rather than narrowing early to a single set performance style, building both technique and the confidence that comes from regular public performance at SMCIS school events.

Visual arts and craft

The Art and Craft Lab, along with the dedicated Drawing Room, gives SMCIS students structured instruction in drawing, painting, and craft work, treating creative skill development with the same seriousness as any other subject rather than leaving it as unstructured free time.

Workshops and skill-building sessions

Beyond the ongoing programs, SMCIS runs periodic workshops that expose students to specific skills or topics outside the regular curriculum, covered separately as their own dedicated program, giving students variety beyond the standing weekly activity schedule.

Social responsibility and community projects

Co-curricular life at SMCIS extends into social responsibility initiatives, discussed in detail elsewhere, giving students structured opportunity to apply the values covered in the school’s value education program through genuine community-connected projects rather than only discussing values abstractly in a classroom.

Why breadth matters more than any single program

No single co-curricular offering defines the SMCIS experience on its own. It is the breadth across sports, music, dance, art, workshops, and community engagement together that reflects the school’s stated commitment to holistic development, giving students many different avenues to build confidence, skill, and genuine interest beyond pure academics.
